Sound Knowledge Outstore – Damian Lewis: Sweet Chaos Album Launch

On Sunday 7 June, St Peter’s hosted Damian Lewis for an intimate evening as part of his Sweet Chaos album launch tour. Accompanied by bassist David Catlin-Birch, Damian performed a stripped-back set to a packed house, just days after his second album was released on 5 June.

There was something fitting about the setting. St Peter’s has its own connection to one of the figures at the heart of one of Damian’s best-known works: Cardinal Wolsey, whom is portrayed in Wolf Hall, was ordained as a priest at this very building in 1498.

It was an evening that showed what an intimate, historic venue can offer that nowhere else can.

A few days later, Sound Knowledge brought another extraordinary night to St Peter’s. BRIT Award-winning singer-songwriter Myles Smith delivered two brilliant sets, with a surprise appearance from Wiltshire’s own Josh Kumra adding something unexpected and very special to the evening.

Myles performed with the building’s stained glass and stonework as a backdrop. It was exactly the kind of intimate, unexpected experience that St Peter’s exists to make possible.

You expect to pay less than your Gift Aid value, in UK income and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current year, or your personal details, such as name and address have changed.

If you have not paid enough tax to meet the Gift Aid claimed by St Peter’s and St Paul’s Marlborough Trust and have not notified us of this, HMRC may seek to recover this sum from you directly, as it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
