Piano recital by Simone Tavoni

Simone Tavoni

On Sunday 24th April the church was full for our penultimate concert of the current series, and Simone Tavoni did not disappoint with a fabulous programme of Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Scriabin. The Pathetique Sonata, one of Beethoven’s most celebrated compositions, opened the programme and was played by Simone full of emotion, its familiar tunes filling the space. By contrast the programme ended with Scriabin’s Sonata No.3, very Russian, very big and quite heavy, but again played with great affinity with the music – a wonderfully powerful performance.

Be sure not to miss the final concert of the season on May 22nd – see elsewhere on this website for details and opportunities to book your ticket.
