DESCRIPTION:Riccardo Pes – CelloGiovanni Sollima describes Riccardo Pes as “a perfect combination of knowledge\, technical skills\, natural lyricism\, fluent sound and fine musical instinct.” \nRiccardo is an Italian cellist and composer\, a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London under Melissa Phelps. His repertoire ranges from baroque (on period instruments) to contemporary music. \nAs a soloist\, he has performed major concertos by Schumann\, Tartini\, Fiorenza\, and Porpora with orchestras such as the Richmond Symphony Orchestra\, I Solisti Veneti\, and the Philharmonic Orchestra. In chamber music\, he has collaborated with leading musicians including Mario Brunello\, Giovanni Sollima\, Gilles Apap\, Madeleine Mitchell\, and Thomas Zehetmair. \nRiccardo has played in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall (Elgar Room)\, Queen Elizabeth Hall\, Schloss Laudon in Vienna\, Sala Sinopoli in Rome\, and Teatro Della Tosse in Genoa\, and has appeared at international festivals including the Venice Biennale\, Triennale of Milan\, and Sounds of the Dolomites. He also trained at the Conservatory of Venice and Accademia Nazionale of Santa Cecilia in Rome\, and has taken part in masterclasses with Frans Helmerson\, Franz Bartolomey\, Johannes Goritzky\, and Gustavo Tavares. \nElena Toponogova – PianoMusical Opinion Magazine praised Elena Toponogova’s playing as “mesmerising.” \nBased in London\, Elena is a concert pianist and chamber musician\, particularly known for her performances of Russian repertoire\, with a special focus on Nikolai Medtner. Together with Norwegian violinist Elisabeth Turmo\, she recently released a CD inspired by myths and legends. \nHer competition highlights include prizes at the Nuova Coppa International Piano Competition (Italy)\, 1st prize at the Nikolai Rubinstein International Competition (Paris)\, and reaching the semi-finals of the Gershwin International Piano Competition (New York). \nElena earned her Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music with Norma Fisher\, later studying at the Academie de Musique Riviera in Switzerland with Pavel Gililov\, supported by Help Musicians UK. She has also attended masterclasses with Dirk Mommertz\, G. Gruzman\, and I. Chukovskaya. \nShe has performed at festivals including the Blanc European Festival (Italy)\, Bloomsbury Festival\, and Festival of Chichester\, and has appeared in venues such as Rachmaninov Hall (Moscow)\, Salzburg Wiener Saal\, Amaryllis Fleming Hall\, V&A Museum\, and St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

Orchestra was highly praised\, with The Times calling it a “debut of considerable panache” and The Financial Times noting his “confidence and a touch of grandiloquence” in Grieg’s Piano Concerto. \nCurrently a postgraduate at the Royal College of Music studying with Danny Driver\, Amiri has performed widely across the UK and abroad. His recital venues include Steinway Hall\, St Martin-in-the-Fields\, Institut Français\, Bishopsgate Institute\, and the Royal Albert Hall (Steinway Young Artist series)\, as well as appearances on BBC Radio London. Internationally\, he has played at the Conservatorio in Venice and the Mozart Music Festival in Forlì\, Italy. \nHe has worked with distinguished musicians such as Inon Barnatan\, Vanessa Latarche\, and Trio Shaham-Erez-Wallfisch\, and was chosen as one of the first Tabor Piano Ambassadors for the Leeds International Piano Competition\, where he continues to contribute to education and outreach projects. Cards for Good Causes is the UK’s largest multi-charity card and gift retailer supporting local and national charities. \nThey are a not-for-profit retail company which currently partners with over 70 charities throughout the UK providing both promotion and royalty income to each charity. They offer the most comprehensive range of cards and gifts for all occasions that directly supports the charity sector. \nStarted in 1959 by James “Jim” Jackson\, Secretary of the British Diabetic Association\, gathered a group of medical charities together to discuss the coordination of publicity for selling charity cards at Christmas to help promote the charities as efficiently as possible. \nCards for Good Causes will be open within St Peter’s Monday to Saturday\, 10am – 4pm. \n  \n
