DESCRIPTION:For the first time ever\, you can watch the spectacular Marlborough Christmas Lights Switch On from the best view in town. \nJoin us at the top of St Peter’s Tower to watch The Mayor and Santa switch on the Town’s Christmas Lights. \nWe will head up the Tower at 6:20pm\, enjoying complimentary mince pies and hot drinks in the fresh air ready for the big switch on at 6:30pm. \nPlease note\, there are 137 spiral steps up the tower\, you will need to ensure you are able to make the climb in limited light and possible wet conditions. \n*Tickets are also available from the Cardinal Coffee Shop.* \nThere are a limited number of tickets due to the available space at the top of the tower.\nALL AGES WILL NEED TO HAVE A PURCHASED A TICKET FOR THIS EVENT

SUMMARY:Brilliant International Musicians Series : Harry Fox (piano) & Alisa Liubarskaya (cello)
DESCRIPTION:Alisa Liubarskaya \n2nd principal Cello at the Royal Ballet Sinfonia as of January 2023. She regularly appears as a guest cellist at venues including the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House\, Covent Garden\, the Orchestra of the Scottish Opera\, the Southbank Sinfonia\, and the Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera. \nAlisa started playing the cello at the age of seven and began giving public performances soon after. During 2012 Alisa became a member of the Southbank Sinfonia and most recently has been invited as a Guest Section Principal with the Orchestra of Scottish Opera. Alisa has received first prizes at the Vivian Joseph Concerto Competition\, and the Barbirolli Memorial Prize for Cellists. Her most recent performances\, including solo concerto performances\, have been with the Southbank Sinfonia\, Trinity Laban Sinfonia\, Canterbury Symphony Orchestra as well as chamber music recitals at the Wigmore Hall\, Royal Festival Hall\, St. John’s Smith Square and St. Martin’s in the Fields. \nHarry Fox \nA Steinway Artist and one of the most notable British Pianists of his generation. He has established an exciting career as a soloist\, chamber musician and recording artist\, having performed internationally at concerts\, competitions and chamber music festivals in Austria\, France\, Greece\, Italy\, Spain\, Switzerland\, the UK and the United States. Performances at prestigious London venues include St Martin’s in the Fields\, St John Smiths Square\, Victoria and Albert Museum\, Fairfield Halls\, and Wigmore Hall. \nHarry was accepted to attend Chetham’s school of Music in Manchester at the age of 8. When he was 13\, he gave his concerto debut performing Grieg’s Piano concerto in A minor. Whilst at Trinity College of Music Harry won the opportunity to perform Chopin ́s 1st piano concerto in the United States \nIn 2017 he founded the Harry & Alisa Recital duo with his wife\, the Cellist Alisa Liubarskaya. October is peak season for apple harvest so this is perfect timing for an autumn afternoon of apple-y celebrations and community. \nDoors open at 2.30pm. DESCRIPTION:Event by Sound Knowledge in partnership with St Peter’s Marlborough \n** SOLD OUT** \nWe’re delighted to be partnering with Sound Knowledge who are welcoming back Bombay Bicycle Club for an intimate outstore at 12.30pm on Sunday 22nd October in St. Peter’s Church to promote the release of their brand new album ‘My Big Day’. \nThe band’s sixth album\, ‘My Big Day’ promises to be a vibrant and joyous set of compositions from the much loved four-piece and features guest appearances from Jay Som\, Nilüfer Yanya\, and Holly Humberstone and Damon Albarn. It’s released on 20th October on CD\, LP and a pink vinyl exclusive to indie shops like us. They previously joined us to celebrate their Top 5 comeback album ‘Everything Else Has Gone Wrong’ in one of our last events before the pandemic hit and we can’t wait to hear the new songs\, this time in the incredible setting of St. Peter’s.

What started as a fun thing to do on a Tuesday turned into a multi faceted journey through the mind of James Watt and his impact on this corner of Wiltshire. \nTOPIC:   \nCrofton Beam Engines – its families 1808-1959. Over this time only 13 families have lived and worked to run the engines pumping water to the top of the Kennet and Avon Canal. DESCRIPTION:Judith Choi-Castro    \nSpanish-South Korean violinist Judith Choi-Castro enjoys a versatile career performing internationally as a soloist\, chamber musician and orchestral player. Judith was born in the Canary Islands\, Spain and at the age of 17 moved to London where she graduated with a BMus (Hons) degree and a Masters degree from the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. Highlighted concerts and touring include: the Stockhausen Donnerstag aus Licht; playing with the London Sinfonietta at the Royal Festival Hall in London (2019); Japan and Russian tours with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski (2017 & 2018); and BBC Proms concerts with Britten Sinfonia\, London Philharmonic\, and BBC Symphony Orchestras at the Royal Albert Hall. \n																														 \nJohn Paul Ekins \nIn great demand as a recitalist\, concerto soloist and chamber musician\, John Paul Ekins has given performances throughout the UK\, and overseas in the Czech Republic\, France\, Germany\, Italy\, Kuwait\, Norway\, Poland\, Romania\, Spain and Switzerland. \nIn 2009 he studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Charles Owen\, graduating with ‘Master of Performance’ (Distinction) in 2011.  International performances have taken him to prestigious venues such as Bucharest Athenaeum\, Zurich’s Tonhalle\, London’s Wigmore Hall\, Royal Albert Hall (where he made his concerto debut in 2013)\, Queen Elizabeth Hall\, Purcell Room\, St. Martin-in-the-Fields\, and Birmingham’s Symphony Hall. John Paul was particularly honoured to be presented to Her Majesty\, The Queen and His Royal Highness The Prince Philip at a Reception for Young Performers in Buckingham Palace. \nThis series is very generously supported by Elisabeth Clemency Cross
