DESCRIPTION:Riccardo Pes – CelloGiovanni Sollima describes Riccardo Pes as “a perfect combination of knowledge\, technical skills\, natural lyricism\, fluent sound and fine musical instinct.” \nRiccardo is an Italian cellist and composer\, a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London under Melissa Phelps. His repertoire ranges from baroque (on period instruments) to contemporary music. \nAs a soloist\, he has performed major concertos by Schumann\, Tartini\, Fiorenza\, and Porpora with orchestras such as the Richmond Symphony Orchestra\, I Solisti Veneti\, and the Philharmonic Orchestra. In chamber music\, he has collaborated with leading musicians including Mario Brunello\, Giovanni Sollima\, Gilles Apap\, Madeleine Mitchell\, and Thomas Zehetmair. \nRiccardo has played in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall (Elgar Room)\, Queen Elizabeth Hall\, Schloss Laudon in Vienna\, Sala Sinopoli in Rome\, and Teatro Della Tosse in Genoa\, and has appeared at international festivals including the Venice Biennale\, Triennale of Milan\, and Sounds of the Dolomites. He also trained at the Conservatory of Venice and Accademia Nazionale of Santa Cecilia in Rome\, and has taken part in masterclasses with Frans Helmerson\, Franz Bartolomey\, Johannes Goritzky\, and Gustavo Tavares. \nElena Toponogova – PianoMusical Opinion Magazine praised Elena Toponogova’s playing as “mesmerising.” \nBased in London\, Elena is a concert pianist and chamber musician\, particularly known for her performances of Russian repertoire\, with a special focus on Nikolai Medtner. Together with Norwegian violinist Elisabeth Turmo\, she recently released a CD inspired by myths and legends. \nHer competition highlights include prizes at the Nuova Coppa International Piano Competition (Italy)\, 1st prize at the Nikolai Rubinstein International Competition (Paris)\, and reaching the semi-finals of the Gershwin International Piano Competition (New York). \nElena earned her Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music with Norma Fisher\, later studying at the Academie de Musique Riviera in Switzerland with Pavel Gililov\, supported by Help Musicians UK. She has also attended masterclasses with Dirk Mommertz\, G. Gruzman\, and I. Orchestra was highly praised\, with The Times calling it a “debut of considerable panache” and The Financial Times noting his “confidence and a touch of grandiloquence” in Grieg’s Piano Concerto. \nCurrently a postgraduate at the Royal College of Music studying with Danny Driver\, Amiri has performed widely across the UK and abroad. His recital venues include Steinway Hall\, St Martin-in-the-Fields\, Institut Français\, Bishopsgate Institute\, and the Royal Albert Hall (Steinway Young Artist series)\, as well as appearances on BBC Radio London. Internationally\, he has played at the Conservatorio in Venice and the Mozart Music Festival in Forlì\, Italy. \nHe has worked with distinguished musicians such as Inon Barnatan\, Vanessa Latarche\, and Trio Shaham-Erez-Wallfisch\, and was chosen as one of the first Tabor Piano Ambassadors for the Leeds International Piano Competition\, where he continues to contribute to education and outreach projects. They offer the most comprehensive range of cards and gifts for all occasions that directly supports the charity sector. \nStarted in 1959 by James “Jim” Jackson\, Secretary of the British Diabetic Association\, gathered a group of medical charities together to discuss the coordination of publicity for selling charity cards at Christmas to help promote the charities as efficiently as possible. \nCards for Good Causes will be open within St Peter’s Monday to Saturday\, 10am – 4pm. \n  \n

Tickets can be bought on line or on the door on the night – all money raised goes to support the invaluable work of the Trust which maintains Marlborough’s most historic building for the benefit of the local community and for generations to come. \nJâms Coleman – PianoPraised by BBC Music Magazine for his “thrilling variety… exquisite touch… and imagination at the piano\,” Welsh pianist Jâms Coleman performs as a soloist\, chamber musician\, and vocal accompanist. A graduate of Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music (awarded ARAM in 2023)\, he appears regularly at major venues and festivals\, including the BBC Proms\, Wigmore Hall\, Cheltenham Festival\, Aldeburgh Festival\, Leeds Lieder Festival\, and the Cello Biënnale in Amsterdam. \nJâms has a close duo partnership with cellist Laura van der Heijden\, whose album Path to the Moon reached over two million streams in its first week and was praised by The Guardian and Gramophone. His recordings also include works by Bridge\, Britten\, Pamela Harrison\, and Fanny Hensel for labels such as Champs Hill Records\, Resonus Classics\, and First Hand Records. DESCRIPTION:Feria Chamber Orchestra New Year’s Concert\nFounded in 2023 and conducted by Stefan Hofkes\, the 38 piece Feria Orchestra is a collaboration of professional and non-professional musicians and friends from Reading\, Bristol and further afield. The orchestra celebrated its inaugural concert in January 2024 and performs regularly in the south of England. \nYou-Chiung Lin\, soloist for our January 2025 concert\, is a pianist and chamber musician based in the UK. After graduating from Tunghai University in Taiwan\, she was awarded a full scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Her concerto appearances have been frequent and greatly praised. She is a truly versatile musician at home with music as diverse as Mozart to Lutoslawski. \nFeria\, meaning ‘Festival’ in Spanish\, signifies celebration\, and our aim is to inspire and entertain audiences through performing classical music in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Since returning to London in 2017\, Tom has built an international career as a performer and recording artist. DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to welcome Martin back with his outstanding world class music. His last concert in Marlborough sold out. \nWidely acknowledged as one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world\, his interpretations of traditional songs are masterpieces of storytelling. His solo shows are intense\, eclectic\, spellbinding and deeply moving. \nThere is no-one who has more successfully combined the diverse elements of British\, Afro-American and old-timey music than Simpson. His 15 years living in the US were well spent. In addition his own songwriting has produced some real gems\, from the truck-stop epic\, “Love Never Dies” to the profoundly moving “Never Any Good” and “One Day”. \nHis career includes collaborations on stage and record with June Tabor\, Kelly Joe Phelps\, Jackson Browne\, Danny Thompson\, Danú\, Martin Carthy\, Cara Dillon\, David Lindley\, Roy Bailey\, Martin Taylor\, David Hidalgo\, Steve Miller\, Dick Gaughan and many more. \nMartin has been nominated an astounding 31 times in the fifteen years of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards \, more than any other performer . \nNow to celebrate 50 years since the release of his first album Martin has recorded an new album shortly to be releases ‘Some Kind of Jubilee’. For this landmark recording\, Martin has gathered an extraordinary ensemble of collaborators he has met along his storied career. SUMMARY:Brilliant International Musicians Series:  Max Mostovetski (piano).
DESCRIPTION:Max Mostovetski – PianoMax Mostovetski began piano lessons at the age of five in Leipzig with Kateryna Blyum\, with whom he studied for 14 years. He has won numerous prizes at international competitions\, including first prizes at the National Bach Competition (Köthen)\, the Carl Schroeder Piano Competition\, the Kiwanis Piano Competition\, the Grotrian-Steinweg International Piano Competition\, and the German National Youth Music Competition\, as well as second prize at the International C.M. von Weber Competition. \nAs a soloist\, Max has performed concertos by Bach\, Mozart\, Beethoven\, and Schumann with orchestras such as the Heidelberg Philharmonic\, Dresden University Orchestra\, Gotha-Eisenach Philharmonic\, and Leipzig Youth Symphony Orchestra. He also gives regular recitals across Austria\, Germany\, the Netherlands\, Spain\, and the UK.
