You are invited to an evening of stunning a cappella harmonies and laugh-out-loud fun with these two fine groups of men. Be prepared to sing, laugh and maybe shed a tear or two ast hey share songs from the sublime to the ridiculous. Definitely not your ordinary male voice choirs.

St Peter’s is a much-loved Marlborough landmark and highly valued by audiences and performers alike. At a time when many venues are struggling with increased costs, all proceeds from this concert will go to support the St Peter’s Charitable Trust and their work in preserving the venue for the community.

The Magnificent AKs are the uniquely hilarious award-winning singing machine from that tranquil corner of North Wiltshire, Ashton Keynes. Nobody knows the exact reason why, but in 2008 the men of the village started to sing. They sang about sheds. And duct tape. And beer. Infact, they sang about everything that was important to them. From such humble beginnings the troupe has ascended the greasy pole to perform in (among other places) Bristol Beacon (formerly The Colston Hall) and The Roundhouse as well as appearing live on Radio 3’s ‘The Choir’. Singing on Windmills, White Horses, and at Stonehenge, gave them the title for their first CD ‘Monumental’ and a later visit to the Giant’s Cause wayinspired their second recording ‘Gigantic’. Expect rich Georgian-inspired polyphony alongside a tuneful celebration of the 21st Century bloke.

The Bittermen are ordinary blokes who make an extraordinary sound. From Georgian laments, to the West Coast sounds of the 1960s, to straight-up sea shanties, the Bittermen are a vocal collective that celebrates the age old tradition of men singing together.Formed in 2014 by their musical director James Sills, the Bittermen are equally at home singing on the concert stage, at festivals and especially in their spiritual home, the Rose and Crown pub in Bebington, Wirral. They have performed at both Liverpool cathedrals, at events for BBCWorldwide and in 2021 provided the male vocals for the Guinness ad campaign “Always On Your

oin Damian Lewis to celebrate the release of his new album Sweet Chaos with an exclusive appearance at St. Peter’s Church from 6pm on Sunday 7th June. Following the success of his acclaimed 2023 debut Mission Creep, which established him as a powerful and authentic new voice in British music, Damian returns with his second album Sweet Chaos, written from a place of hard-won clarity.

Written two years on, it is bolder, broader, and at times more raw. “The first album was quiet and tender,” Lewis says. “This new album is a bit angrier in places. You don’t know these things until you listen back: the extent to which your state of mind pervades the thing.”

For this intimate appearance, Damian will perform a short, stripped-back set, showcasing the songs in their rawest form. The performance will be followed by a Q&A and signing event, offering fans a rare chance to meet Damian and ask him about the stories behind the music.

“Sweet Chaos is a story of a man whose life is gilded, charmed, blessed. A man in control upon whom chaos is visited, but the chaos releases all manner of wonderful things. A freedom.”

If you’d like to attend this intimate performance in a beautiful setting, album and ticket bundles are available for purchase, featuring a copy of the new album (released 5th June on CD, LP and an indies exclusive orange vinyl) and a ticket to the event. Standalone tickets are also available but we’d ask you to consider buying a bundle where possible- it’s better value for you and the album sales help both the artist and also us with organising these events. Tickets and bundles are available exclusively from Sound Knowledge in-store, over the phone on 01672 511106 or via this page from 11am on Friday 27th March.

PLEASE NOTE – BECAUSE OF THE PROXIMITY OF THE EVENT TO THE ALBUM’S RELEASE, ALL TICKETS/BUNDLES ARE PICKUP-ONLY, EITHER FROM THE SHOP AS FROM 5TH JUNE OR ON THE DOOR OF THE VENUE ON THE DAY. NOTHING WILL BE POSTED OUT FOR THIS ONE.

Under 16s must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. We can’t admit under-8s for this one. This is a standing event but please notify us by email if you have any access requirements.
