SUMMARY:Marlborough LitFest at St Peter's.
DESCRIPTION:St Peter’s are delighted to be partnering with Marlborough LitFest 2025! \nPlease see the list below of the inspiring authors joining us at St Peters. Full details can be found HERE  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Land in Winter by Andrew Miller is set during the freezing winter of 1963 and follows two couples as their lives begin to fall apart. It’s a quiet\, powerful story about relationships under pressure. Miller says he aims to capture the full human experience without forcing a message—and critics agree\, with The Guardian calling it possibly his best work yet. \n\n\n\n\n\nSummer Rolls by Tuyên Đỗ is a powerful family drama set in 1990s London. It follows Mai\, a British-Vietnamese teen navigating two cultures and clashing with her protective mother\, Trinh\, a refugee from war-torn Vietnam. Đỗ explores identity\, generational conflict\, and the legacy of the Vietnam War in a story praised as poetic\, nuanced\, and deeply moving.\n\n\n\nChurch Going by Andrew Ziminski is a lively and insightful look at the architecture of British and Irish churches\, from lychgates to crypts. Drawing on his experience as a stonemason\, Ziminski explores medieval churches with warmth and humor. Packed with illustrations\, it’s a charming guide to our religious heritage—complete with some unforgettable details (like the Sheela-na-gig).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHollow Grave is the latest in Kate Webb’s gripping Wiltshire-based crime series featuring DI Matt Lockyer and DC Gemma Broad. This time\, they investigate the 1999 disappearance of a woman from an archaeological dig. As always\, Lockyer’s own past looms large. Webb\, also known for her bestselling historical novels under the name Katherine Webb\, has been praised as a standout new voice in crime fiction.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLogging Off by Adele Zeynep Walton is a powerful critique of our digital world. Drawing from personal tragedy and her experience as a Gen Z journalist\, Walton explores how social media harms us while tech companies profit. The book offers both a warning and a guide to reclaiming a healthier\, more humane digital future. Walton is also a campaigner for online safety and co-founder of the Logging Off Club\, promoting real-world connection. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow to book tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can book tickets Online HERE or By telephone: 0333 6663366 Mon–Sat 9am–5pm (through TicketSource – no booking fee\, postage charged at £2.50 if required) In person: The White Horse Bookshop\, Marlborough Mon–Sat 9am–5.30pm\, Sun 11am–4pm and from the Box Office in the Town Hall over the festival weekend from 4.30pm Fri 26 September.
